Just discovered video! Never released! Never viewed!
Live from the Railhead in Boulder Station, Las Vegas!
On any other night this would have been another sterling rendition of Harlem Nocturne by Michael Kleid. As we are in the midst of it, here comes Spike out of the wings in an apron, cigarette dangling, with a feather duster. It’s hard to see because of the quality of the video, but hang with it. When he turns around, he’s got nothing but boxers on…
C-Yah!

Wow! That was a bit, out of left field, that, I don’t think was done but a couple of times. It definately required a certain venue to pull it off. Various members of the group had their own routines that emerged when you least expected it.
I’d bet that this is the ONLY video capture of that bit. I wish Kleid’s “long arm” routine was caught on film. That’s an all time classic. SPIKE

I didn’t know I even had this until a couple of weeks ago. It seems obvious that the light crew knew what was going on, but I sure didn’t. Did Michael know?

I don’t think that I told Kleid that I was going to do it. I had the “outfit” ready back stage, obviously. Steve knew. Perhaps Steve told the light guys, I didn’t tell them. The whole point, was to catch everyone off-guard. The light crew was on top of it though.
It’s apparent that the band was used to anything happening, as everyone continued to play the song out.
FiFi (Jay’s ex), and I were talking one night about how many times she’d seen the shows, and she told me that, she enjoyed the fact that from night to night, we did different things. The sets followed an outline, but we strayed. I’ve always thought that as a compliment. SPIKE

So I found you. I was SUCH a big fan. I had the dvd of the show in Tarzana. I watched it a million times when I lived in Chicago. Then we MOVED to Vegas. I thought it would be fun to load it to my neighbor Bobby Hudson. I never saw it again. And then when we moved to San Diego, I was missing the band. I googled and found Michael and Larry. I also found an old photo on Ebay. I see Spike saw it there.I must comment on the Big Fat Elmo thing. It was hilarious! Oh Well. You sure know how to have fun and make good music.I am planning a trip to Vegas with 5 other old ladies and plan to look you up. The trip will be March or April of 2009. So I hope we can do a meetup. A big thank you for the videos. They are so awesome and I can share them with my online gal pals.Stay cool guys, dawnee
